Thresholds Named One of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2025
Chicago, IL – Thresholds has been recognized once again as one of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2025, marking nine years of this honor. The award celebrates organizations that go above and beyond to support their staff, fostering a supportive and strong community.
“A career at Thresholds is more than just a job. It’s a space where people go to feel valued, encouraged, and inspired,” said Mark Ishaug, Thresholds President and CEO. “Our impact is only as strong as the people behind it. This recognition reflects the incredible individuals who make Thresholds what it is. From frontline care to systems-level change, our staff leads with heart, and their work changes lives every day.”
With more than 1,300 employees and nearly 100 sites across the Chicagoland area, Thresholds is one of the oldest and largest providers of services for people living with mental health and substance use conditions.
The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For program, managed by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR), evaluates organizations based on criteria like communication, diversity, work-life balance, recognition, and employee development. Winners are selected through a competitive assessment process that highlights companies setting the standard for workplace excellence.
Jennifer Kluge, President and CEO of NABR and the Best & Brightest Programs, emphasized that “these companies have excelled by prioritizing their workplace culture. By putting their employees first, this exceptional group of top-tier leaders has created a strong foundation that sets them apart as leaders in their industries and communities.”
As Thresholds continues to expand, this recognition reinforces the organization’s investment in both the people they employ, and the people they serve.
“At a time when behavioral health is facing increasing threats across the country, offering a supportive, mission-driven workplace is our way of fighting back,” Ishaug said. “By retaining passionate professionals, we’re ensuring that everyone has access to the home, health, and hope they deserve.”
