Donor Spotlight: Polk Bros. Foundation
This month, Thresholds’ Donor Spotlight features the Polk Bros. Foundation. The Foundation prioritizes community development, access to housing, and education among other key issue areas to ensure that all Chicagoans have the opportunity to thrive.
The Polk Bros. Foundation has supported Thresholds for over 35 years. This year, the Foundation is supporting the Mental Health Initiative for Young Mothers, a new project at Thresholds for homeless youth. This project will provide a continuum of support and therapeutic services to young people with serious mental health challenges and their children.
In coordination with the Chicago Continuum of Care, the project will enroll clients in our Transitional Living Program and Early Learning Center. A mental health specialist will also provide outreach and ongoing support for youth in drop-in centers, shelters, and other programs that support young people experiencing homelessness.
Thresholds is deeply grateful for the Polk Bros. Foundation’s ongoing support, and for its confidence in the work we do and the people we serve!
